Each school day is an opportunity to turn the page, learn something new, and build upon the chapters that lead to student success. Our schools and our staff believe that when we work together, the little things that happen in our classrooms - the connections, the lessons learned, and the daily wins - add up to make a difference in building upon each student’s story.

To ensure schools are ready to support all students in attendance on the first day of school (Sept. 8 and 9), all student’s paperwork must be fully processed by Thursday, Sept. 3, 2026, at 12 p.m. (noon). Support is available for families with enrollment, however, enrolling after this deadline means a student will likely have a delayed start date for the 2026-27 school year.

Anoka-Hennepin officially welcomed over 200 new teachers for a three-day orientation Aug. 25-27 — another sign that the 2026-27 school year is just around the corner.

Anoka-Hennepin Schools’ Enrollment Center staff met with School Board members and district leadership on Monday, Aug. 24 to present and tour the new space, and see firsthand how staff will be able to provide blue-ribbon support and service to families this year and well into the future with a ceremonial ribbon-cutting ceremony.

The Anoka-Hennepin School District has been recognized with the Best Communities for Music Education designation from the National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) for the 12th time. The honor recognizes the district’s outstanding commitment to music education.

During the back-to-school season, t’s more important than ever for drivers to pay attention before- and after-school to keep families, students and staff safe. Check out tips from the Anoka-Hennepin transportation department as a reminder to keep it safe for school.

Get enrollment support if you are new or interested in attending an Anoka-Hennepin school, or returning for the upcoming school year.

Walk-in visits are accepted from 8 a.m. - 3 p.m. Families may contact the Enrollment Center directly to set-up an appointment. Open house events will also be held from 3-7 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 26 and Thursday, Sept. 3.

All Anoka-Hennepin families are encouraged to apply for the educational benefits program for the 2026-27 school year. A new application must be submitted each school year.
